The truss models are an effective tool that is in use with a wide range in designing and dimensioning the RC structures especially for solving the statically or geometrically discontinuous regions. Truss/strut-and-tie models are attended to analyze all parts of a structure and consider load path in a structural element. In this paper, a truss model was generated on beam-column connections of strengthened reinforced concrete weak frames and the shear capacities of joint regions were determined theoretically by means of truss models. To compare the theoretical results, reinforced concrete strengthened frames were produced and tested. The experimental and analytical results were compared with each other.
