Haliç attracts attention as an extension of Sea of Marmara. Alibeyköy and Kağithane streams and the seawater coming from İstanbul Strait combine here. Its real formation mechanism is based on tectonic movements. This area was formed with the collapses in the würm and period after it. Because of its natural beauties, it is called the Golden Horn. But after polluted water discharged here and it was announced as Industrial Zone in 1954, Haliç was polluted and suffered an ecological destruction. At the end of this Project Haliç has been cleaned and some positive conditions has been created in respect of ecology. In the study, the Project has been generally introduced, the phases of the Project have been explained and gains after the Project have been considered in respect of ecology.
