Preparation of silver nanoparticles has been carried out using biomass (Lemon leaves) and chemical reducing agent (NaBH4). The silver nanoparticles were characterized by using UV-Visible spectroscopy, Scanning Electron Microscopy and Transmission Electron Microscopy. The formed nanoparticles by the biomass method were between 15- 45 nm and spherical shape. The nanoparticles formed by chemical reduction were between 20-58 nm in spherical and the formation is faster. Nanoparticles formed by both methods have similar properties but biosynthesis method is an alternative to conventional methods. Biological methods are considered safe and ecologically sound for the nanomaterial fabrication.
