ABSTRACT
This paper examines the concepts and practice from Muslim community pertaining inheritance particularly in Malaysia.Objectives of this research are to gather information on the theory and application of faraid according to Islam. Thus, faraid stipulates how the estate of a Muslim is to be dealt with and distributed after his or her death. The rules described here reflect the rules practised under the Shafie school of thought; some differences or variations may be adopted under the Hanafi, Maliki and Hambali schools. Hence, this paper aims at providing an overview on the administration of Islamic law of property in Malaysia. Finally,it also tends to explore its practice among Muslims in Malaysia and problems they face in wealth distribution especially in faraid.
