The self-help books and human resources departments suggest different methods for personal development like training, reading, and exercising; except doing projects. In this study, the contribution of projects to the development of personal competencies will be explored. The level of change in one’s “personal competencies” before and after a project will be the main exploration point of this study. In the area of personal development, projects have not been evaluated as a tool for personal development. In the pioneer works of the field this phenomenon is not encountered, neither in Stephen Covey’s, nor in Anthony Robbins’ books. In the field of psychology again, the project subject as an aspect that affects personality or learning is not assessed. Even in the field of human resources, there are plenty of studies about acquiring a competence but none of them tried to find a relationship between developing personal competences and the projects. In order to find out the correlation between the development of personal competences and projects three cases will be examined in the paper together with literary research.
