Women issues are new dimensions in the social construction and reconstructive of African societies. The intention is to promote women identity, welfare, social recognition in their relationship with men, poverty alleviation, social, political and economic empowerment for the general development in our societies. This study has taken into consideration the womanist concept in exploring the theme of childbearing and relationship with married and unmarried women in rejecting, re-interpreting gender-biased images of women who are seen only as instrument of sexual satisfaction, child bearers and domestic laundry personnel. This area is explained as a strategy for empowering women and changing the genderlised ideas in the society. This study also reveals the new images of women’s sensibility, possibilities and realities in African society and African fiction.
