The word “Power” is very attractive for every person nowadays. Its meaning and connotation is intensely revealed in courtroom discourse. However, its indicators or language markers cannot be fully determined; the power in the courtroom is one of the key factors which takes the greatest role for the final sentence during the trial. Lots of scientists at present are exploring this interesting field. As far as the power of language is expressed in one’s opinion, view, position or attitude, there are many different ways for expressing them. Generally discourse exploring process has shown us that the courtroom discourse is a research field which provides various, interesting and catching cases when a person can fix his/her position during questioning another person in many ways. This time we have minimized the topic of the large research theme and decided to explore the minor field of language and power which is implied in metadiscourse studies. To cut a long story short, metadiscourse studies of language has proved that it is partially a decisive side for proving that the power really exists in counsels’ questions in witness questioning.
