In «the feminine writing» Anaïs Nin is the writer that’s shocking. She’s shocking only because in her writings doesn’t exist the vulgarity of the words but only the experimental exam, a very serious one and also concise, very detailed and also frivolous. It’s an honest type of writing but we cannot use here a very important term : « morality ». What’s more important is that in Inceste, the terme for « adultery » is not used and the fight between « Good» and « Bad » is not the one that interests the reader, but the fight between the characters’ feelings, what they are living, their lives and also their betrayals, between too many different sexual histories and also between their multiple personalities and life stories.
At Anaïs Nin and Nelly Arcan we analyse the sexual autonomy and also their body language. There are two type of women : the married woman at Anaïs Nin and the prostitute at Nelly Arcan. We have a large image of the woman’s body offered by the many points of view: the married woman, the wife, the woman without any consideration for a man’s body (the client of a prostitute) but also the woman’s body seen as a source of great pleasure and accomplished dreams.
The feminine writing gives us only personal information and mostly a perception of a woman’s body. The text is not related to religion or morality, two concepts that tell us how we are supposed to live our intimate/ sexual life in direct relation with our own sexual experiences, sensuality and erotism but it is subordinated to the freedom of the body, the freedom of sensations and also the freedom given by the lake of limits, rules or canons. The freedom of the body is the freedom we have to explore different types of relationships and also to discover our intense capacity of developing the interhuman relationships. We also have a perspective on the final term of « shared sexuality » the feeling of lonliness, that women always have in a relationship and also the impossibility to open up their souls and understand their bodies. Anaïs Nin and Nelly Arcan are also showing the complexity of the differences between the woman’s body and the man’s body, which is more a sensory differenciation.
The parental education form childhood until adult age is also very important, as Freud and Lacan mentione in their studies speaking about the image that the little girl has about herself and also the image that the boy has, both perceptions received from their parents.
The two writers explain the « abandon » which brings physical death to a woman’s soul, the body’s death but also the soul’s death. Also, the « abandon » is the first source of the suicidal behaviour related to the alienation process and the essential condition for the freedom of the spirit.
