Ever since the first smartphone was released in the year 2000, the world has been witnessing a fast evolution of technology which has directly affected every aspect of our daily lives. The generation of learners nowadays has introduced new rules, imposed new changes and created an increasingly rapid pace of access to information. Accordingly, in the field of education, modern methodologies have emerged. A strong move towards interactive learning has been implemented and many of the classical approaches are seen to become less effective. Despite all the advancements in the field of education, it has become very challenging to engage learners when delivering academic concepts. The fast pace and easy access to information have put forward new variables in methodologies, techniques, and strategies. The work will detail the results of a social experiment examining the educational behavioral changes of learners in a first-year Mathematics course offered to students studying engineering at the University of Balamand. The experiment suggests a need to move into a faster technique hence introducing the "pitching concept" into the classroom. The work will also present the results of focus groups conducted at the counseling center at the university highlighting the point of view of students on that matter
