The purpose of this study was to test whether self-monitoring with the combination of some influence strategies will help women overcome gender bias. Participants were aged between 23 and 35, and 33% of the respondents were women. Snyder (1974) scale was used to record whether women were high self-monitors or low self-monitors, and Kipnis and Schmidt (1982) scale was used to measure the influence strategies. A new questionnaire was designed and was responded to by male employees, which measured the gender bias. Findings of regression analyses show that self-monitoring and use of friendliness and bargaining strategies reduce gender bias, and use of higher authority strategy enhances gender bias.
