Due to its importance volunteer work is a popular way involving people in social life, promoting neighbourhood quality of life during the work for gratis in state, private, and non-governmental institutions. Volunteering contributes to the economy. Although Gross Domestic Product that evaluates the level of economic activity in a country does not include data on goods produced and services provided outside a market, but as jobs transform from volunteer to paid positions, researches show that volunteer work produces also economic benefits. Volunteering has a great role in various fields – education, youth, culture, sport, environment, development policy and it ensures a great opportunity to learn, get new skills and to accumulate human capital during volunteer activities. Human capital is one of the key factors that define the potential of a country’s economic growth. Therefore successful development of volunteering enhances the progress of economic processes in the state in two ways by making contributions to Gross Domestic Product, by accumulating person human capital.
