For sustainable growth and development of small businesses, there is the need for owner managers to have positive attitude towards internationalization. This study investigates the attitude of entrepreneurs in Ghana to internationalization. The study was mainly qualitative and data were collected from forty-one small business owners through face-to-face interviews and focus group. The study adopted judgement and convenience sampling strategies. The combined strategies were meant to select those small businesses which fell within the definition of small businesses provided by the National Board for Small Scale Industries in Ghana (NBSSI) and were easily reached by the researcher. Data were thematically analysed using NVivo software. The key finding was that majority of the owner managers had poor attitude towards internationalization and the main reason was inadequate finance. The few entrepreneurs who were ready to go international were motivated mainly by access to large market. It was concluded that for small businesses to expand through internationalisation they need to build financial capacity and have positive attitude towards Internationalization.
