The use of online social networks has become a daily habit and we are now witnessing a growth in accessing the social networks from mobile devices. Facebook is still the most accessed social network, having 1.15 billion monthly active users as of June 2013. The information users post on social networks can be misused and there are risks users expose to, such as: online stalking, spamming or phishing, malvertising or profile squatting through identity theft. However, users’ privacy concern and their behavioral intention regarding the social networks is not that known. The objective of the research was to study the awareness of the risks related to privacy violations that may occur and to assess the perceived privacy, security and usefulness when using Facebook. We have conducted an empirical research, based on an online questionnaire which was accessed in March 2013 by Romanians aged between 21 and 40, all of the respondents owning at least one Facebook account. Only about 15% of the respondents are not interested in the negative consequences of the fact that third parties can access their Facebook profile. 40% of the respondents are not concerned about the fact that the information they post (comments, pictures or likes) can be seen by someone else except friends, but most of them did not answer whether they are or not concerned about the misuse of this information. Almost half of the respondents are sure that the information they post on Facebook is not secured, but the great majority intend to keep their profiles in the future. However, 61.25% of them intend to be more careful about privacy issues when using the social network
