This research sets out to determine international market preference of Nigerian manufacturing firms and to examine the determinants that impact on export market behaviour of Nigeria manufacturing firms. The study appreciates the significant role international marketing plays to facilitate, grow and sustain economic development of nations. The primary data used in this research were derived from structured questionnaire administered on the Marketing Executives of each of the ninety manufacturing companies actively engaged in international marketing. Seventy eight copies of the questionnaire (77%) were retrieved and used in the analysis. Spearman’s Rank Correlation Coefficient with SPSS version 15 window was employed in testing the hypotheses. The findings showed that responding firms prefer to export to divers markets of the world. West Africa was identified as the dominant current preference market, with South Africa as the most future preferred market. Decision and choice determinants were revealed to impact on marketing involvement of Nigeria manufacturing firms, while Profit motive was the strongest determinant for Nigeria manufacturing firms’ international marketing. Considering the ever increasing socio-economic importance of international marketing, Nigeria exporters / policy makers need to appreciate and intensify the export of manufactured products, and diversify their export markets to many regions in response to the forces of globalization and liberalization as to achieve the nation desired export objectives.
