The continent which is known as the cradle of humanity is still underdeveloped despite all the natural resources it has and the reforms it has experienced. Some scholars believe that the fact that the African continent is still lagging behind is due to governance. Political leaders lack vision for the continent as a whole. Many have been selfish and did not work for the interest of the people and their countries. Corruption is widespread across the continent. The continent, after its balkanization in Berlin, Germany, became the colony of many European countries, and most of these colonies got their “independence” from their colonizers in the 1960s. Since then, Africa has experienced several crises and reforms that have contributed to hinder its development. From East to West, North to South, we still have extreme poverty striking at the face of millions of people. This paper mainly aims then at finding the appropriate reforms that will help boost development on the continent.
In fact:
• What are the political reforms the continent need?
• What are some economic measures that can help boost development in Africa?
• What are the educational reforms that should be undertaken on the African continent?
• How can the African youth be involved in politics on the continent?
These are some of the questions this paper aims at providing answers in the core of the work.
