The purpose of this paper is to analyse the context of integrating information and communication technologies (ICT) to Romanian initial teacher education. The main aims of the present study are the following: a) to identify the current approaches regarding the ICT integration in initial teacher training; b) to highlight the main issues which occur in implementing new technologies in initial teacher education and c) to explore the original solutions for effective achieving ICT at the level of initial teacher education in Romania. The study contributes to emphasizing the role of the information and communication technologies on the development of initial teacher education programmes.
