Communicating effectively in cross-cultural situations and relating appropriately in a variety of cultural contexts require certain attitudes, knowledge and skills in addition to linguistic, sociolinguistic and discourse competence. The aim of this research is to investigate the current situation of two Catholic university students’ input in the foreign language classroom and to reveal the relationship between the languages and cultures which students should be aware of.
