This paper outlines a scheme that leads to the integration of research and education at undergraduate level. The use of real-life industrial projects gives impetus to and encourages linkage between academia and industry. It is envisaged that the proposed system of integration of research and education will lead to industry-education alliance. This promotes the involvement of industry in course design, which results in real industry-based projects being studied and researched in the classroom. The cooperative alliance will provide academic institutions with the needed financial support while, at the same time, providing industry with highly skill professionals.
