Thailand has determined the need for education reform. Education Technology was identified as being an important element required to move forward. English language instructors agreed that it is a valuable resource to learning improvement. Many of these instructors are insisting on high standards and classroom activities that challenge the students. There have been numerous studies conducted to investigate situations of social networks being integrated into general education and also specifically for English language classrooms teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL). To complement these studies it is also important to conduct more studies set up to identify disadvantages of using social networks in a language classroom. A study was initiated to investigate the opinions English language teachers hold towards classrooms in which social networks were integrated as e-Learning instruction for English classrooms. The study, using qualitative research, recruited ten English instructors who teach reading at Ubon Ratchathani Rajabhat University, as the subjects. The results came back reflecting both advantages and disadvantages. The data were collected through semi-structured interviews conducted with each of the subjects. Some advantages of using social networks in English language classrooms were that it facilitated students’ learning process and improved vocabulary knowledge. Distractions and classroom discipline were among the disadvantages.
