Teaching is one of those professions where almost everything is dynamic. The current trends in education indicate sweeping changes in the teaching scenario. Today’s students are referred to as digital natives and today’s educators as digital immigrants. Teachers are working with students who have been immersed in the 21st century media culture. Students are self directed and work both independently and inter-dependently. Teachers’ roles have become all the more challenging. Although cataclysmic changes are evident on the horizon a look at the other end of the social spectrum is dismal. English Language teachers have a herculean task to teach the international language to the non native students.
