This research aimed to study 1) causes and effects of teachers’ researches; 2) factors of teachers’ researches; and 3) behaviours indicating teachers’ research engagement. Thirteen documents concerning research engagement and interviews with seven specialists were applied to synthesize factors of teachers’ research engagement. All interviews were audio recorded and transcribed. Content and descriptive analyses were performed. The research results were as follows. First, causes of teachers doing the research were found out. Doing researches could address problems and be applied to improve teachers’ teaching. Second, to conduct a research a person needs to be eager to learn and plan, a good team player, critical, creative and responsible and have good communication skills. Third, behaviours of teachers’ research engagement were intrinsic motivation to do researches, understanding the nature and methodology of research, having a working network and being in an organization with a learning cycle, being interested in the surrounding, seeking interesting information, trying to include research engagement in routine work, publishing and implementing research results and showing benefits of result application. Initial findings revealed that teachers’ research engagement included seven factors: research attitude, research understanding, research culture, research reading, research doing, research using, and research reflection.
