It is significant to concentrate on outdoor education in urban areas because it restricts the opportunities for outdoor activities that are practised in these places. Furthermore, some aspects of urban areas such as their environmental, social, cultural and economic factors can influence opportunities for play because if these areas are built up, clearly they will offer few play opportunities. Play in outdoor spaces in rural areas is available to any child who could play alone or with other children. In the 21st century, outdoor education has become an essential part of the educational curriculum, provided by many schools world-wide. Some skills that are needed for play can be practised in the outdoor school environment by using the facilities provided by the school. Outdoor education is vital so that a child can learn about and understand environmental issues which can impact on pupil's behaviour. It helps to develop their social skills, which contributes to building character. Educational activities in outdoor spaces in schools are planned so as to enhance qualitative learning and must complement the formal educational curriculum.
