This study addresses a problem related to a branch of computer security — data security. It proposes a higher level of efficiency in securing sensitive data for institutions by developing a software, entitled “3Crypt: A Developmental Tool for Complex Encrypting and Decrypting of Data”. It is capable of three-layer encryption for additional data security. Descriptive survey and developmental methods of research were employed to gather sufficient data needed for the study. Agile Scrum Methodology was used in the development of the 3Crypt software for flexibility and full functionality. Companies will benefit of higher level of security offered by 3Crypt through the use of three encryption algorithms namely, AES-256, Two fish and Serpent, thereby generating a highly secured software. 3Crpyt facilitates an effective and more secure way of securing company files which may contribute to enhancement of services and fully gaining customer’s trust.
