The design studio is the basic learning environment in architecture education. In this studio-based instruction, the design problem(s) are given to the students and they develop appropriate solutions as a design project. Under the supervision of a studio coordinator, a series of negotiations and desk critiques, including guidance and suggestions, are realized throughout the semester. Therefore, the desk critiques (or crits) have an essential impact on the process of education. The main aims of this study are; to explore the positive and negative approaches of instructors with regard to students' perception; to define the student's emotional mood related to instructors' attitude in the studio; to determine the effects of their psychological situation on their motivation; and to find out the relationship between the psychology of the process and the success of the end product.
