An attempt has been made in this paper to discuss issues' implications and strategies in respect of implementation of outcome based curriculum keeping in context' the diploma programmes of engineering and allied disciplines under Gujarat Technical University' in which NITTTR Bhopal has significantly contributed in developing outcome based curricula. Though the curricula as a blue print of the programmes is almost ready' but in order to successfully implement the outcome based curriculum' it is essential to understand the implications of Outcome Based Curriculum (OBC) on the system and its constituents like —university' polytechnics' its teachers' staff' students and on outcome based implementation and assessment and how these differs from implementing conventional/traditional curriculum. One of the critical aspects of implementing Outcome Based Education (OBE) is through continuing training and development of teachers and support staff with focus on process of assessment and continuous improvement intended to meet the challenges of employability by being responsive to labour market and broadly to the needs of multiple external constituents like National Board of Accreditation (NBA).
