Peace is one aspect that is on the priority list for the whole world today where everything seems to fall out of place. Under the tumult and chaos of disharmony, disintegration and cut throat competition ,peace is definitely the need of the day. If this need has to be fulfilled, then ethics is the only solution. Ethics or moral philosophy is a code of conduct deemed to be right or wrong, while peace is a state of being free from violent turbulence. Since earliest times, the world has seldom had a long period of unbroken peace. Many proposals for the achievement of lasting peace are planned on global level. However peace seems to be a distant dream because of the spar of interests related to caste, class, creed, gender, race, and religion. It is a human tendency in general to operate in accordance with principles which endorse their immediate interest. This however is detrimental to the larger interests of the society. It is here that ethical concerns become imperative to eliminate the threat of an over looming havoc and the need for ethical system arises. When we regard the significance of being ethically sound individually, it is then that peace will automatically take its stand and prevail in society. An ethically strong character leads to peaceful co-existence.
