Two hundred JSSII students were randomly selected from two strategic schools in Uyo. The result showed that application of ILS in Social Studies makes its learning more effective in the junior secondary school. It also showed that ILS positively impacted on JSSII students’ performance in Social Studies assessment. The researchers therefore, recommended that school administrators and teachers should embrace ILS as a method of teaching social studies in their schools and this should be supported with the provision of adequate relevant instructional materials for individualized learning programme (ILP).
